芒种,顾名思义“有芒之谷类作物可种”，古人称之为“五月节”，是夏季的第三个节气。
人们在芒种到来前播撒下一年中最后一批种子。芒种这天,古人还会煮青梅,送花神,进行安苗祭祀,祈求风调雨顺。
