RWANDA President Paul Kagame invited Shenzheners to invest in his country during a press conference in the city Thursday.
Kagame, on his second visit to Shenzhen, said he had already found Shenzhen attractive on his last visit.
“But on my second visit, I am enjoying the city even more. The city’s expansion has made it more prosperous and beautiful,” Kagame said.
Kagame invited Shenzheners to visit or invest in Rwanda. “You will find a welcoming environment there,” he said.
Rwanda has a good investment regime he said including a secure environment, low corporate income taxes and an office to help would-be investors.
Based on the long-term friendship between China and Rwanda, there is already a lot of exchange between the two countries, Kagame said.
Rwanda and Shenzhen are already cooperating in the information and communication fields, for which Shenzhen is well known, he said.
“A number of Rwanda businesspeople are coming to Shenzhen, and more people are coming from Shenzhen to Rwanda, too, to look into different opportunities.”
Kagame hopes to enhance cooperation with Shenzhen in the service industries, including information and communication technologies, finance and tourism.
Invited by President Hu Jintao, Kagame is on a State visit to China from May 13 to May 18.
