来到西乡街道参观

绮云书室和北帝古庙

Century-old private school culturing talents,

a long-history ancient monastery inheriting folk customs.

Today, students from Xixiang Middle School

take their foreign teachers to Xixiang Sub-district

to visit Qiyun Private School and Beidi Temple

穿过鸣乐东街

同学们带着外教便来到了

转角处的绮云书室

推开厚重的大门

室内精美的雕塑

纷纷映入眼帘

同学们向外教一一展示

如数家珍

Walking through the Mingledong Street,

students lead their foreign teachers to

Qiyun Private School at the corner.

After pushing off the heavy door,

the magnificent sculptures and carvings in the room

come into view one after another.

The students introduce them to the teachers

with pride and familiarity.

推开书室侧门

来到郑毓秀的雕像旁

同学们满怀敬佩地为外教

讲诉了这位传奇女性的故事

Walking in from the side door,

getting to the statue of Zheng Yuxiu,

The students tell the stories of

the extraordinary woman with great admiration.

郑毓秀是绮云书室培养出的一代传奇女性，她被冠予中国历史上第一位女博士、第一位女律师、第一位女省级政务官等。郑氏家族崇文尚学，重视品德与教化，时至今日，世人仍受其文化熏陶，受其恩惠。

Zheng Yuxiu, a legendary lady cultivated by the Qiyun Private School, is honored with the first female with doctoral degree, the first female lawyer, the first female provincial official, etc.. The Zheng family thinks highly of study and pays great importance to integrity and education. People are still edified by its culture and benefited by it.

特色和历史文化

After leaving the private school,

the teachers and students hop and drop to

the Nine-dragon Wall in the front of Beidi Temple.

By doing the guessing game,

students present the history and culture of the old temple

to the foreign teachers.

北帝古庙距今有500年历史，主要供奉北方真武玄天上帝。在同学们的带领和讲解下，外教观摩了后殿诸神塑像，游览了真武园的八仙台、龟仙池和清心亭。同学们还为外教介绍了“三月三北帝庙会”庆贺北帝诞辰的传统习俗。

Beidi Temple, an ancient temple with a history of 500 years, enshrines Zhenwu God. Inside the temple, they observe the different statues of god and tour around the Eight Immortals Pool, the Immortal Turtle Pool and the Clean Mind Pavilion. With the students’ introduction, teachers know that the it is a custom to celebrate the birth of Beidi on the third day of the third month in lunar calendar.
