Huizhou Daya Bay Economic & Technological Development Zone
The national-level Huizhou Daya Bay Economic & Technological Development Zone (Daya Bay ETEZ) was established under the approval of the State Council. A multi-level transport network consisting of deep water port, aviation, railway, expressway and fiber communication network is in place at the moment.

Geographic Advantage
Located in the south of Huizhou Municipality and adjacent to Shenzhen westward, it is only 60 kilometers away from Hong Kong by road and 47 miles by sea.
Port Advantage
Daya Bay is one of the few natural deep water ports with broad sea, short sea-route and low sediment. Huizhou Port is a National Class-1 Port open to the outside world.
Infrastructure Advantage
Infrastructure such as port, road, water supply, power supply and telecommunications is in place. It is also close to Huizhou's Huiyang District and only 40 kilometers away from Hong Kong and Shenzhen with convenient facilities for daily life.

It is based in Pearl River Delta Area which has a huge demand for petrochemical products as one of China's most economically vibrating regions.
Project Advantage
Mega investment projects are relatively concentrated in Daya Bay ETEZ, highlighting Petrochemical Complex Nanhai Project jointly invested by CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company Limited, Guangdong LNG Huizhou Power Plant Project, CNOOC Huizhou Refinery, Huizhou BYD Co, Ltd., Huizhou Daya Bay Huade Petrochemicals Co., Ltd, among others. At the moment, foreign investors from over 20 countries and regions including the Netherlands, U.S., UK, Japan, Singapore and Germany have made their investment in Daya Bay ETEZ. Among them there are 12 World Top 500 Enterprises.
Daya Bay ETEZ achieved a total of 10.20 billion yuan GDP in 2006, year-on-year up 90.3 percent. Industrial output value and sales of industrial products reach 28.456 and 27.353 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 261.7 and 253 percent respectively from the previous year. A total of US$581 million foreign trade was accomplished, up 47.3 percent from 2005.
Located in the eastern part of Daya Bay ETEZ, the Daya Bay Petrochemical Industrial Park has a total planned area of 27.8 square kilometers. With refinery and polyethene project as backbone, Daya Bay Petrochemical Industrial Park prioritizes the development of industries with high added value and sci-tech content such as deep processing petrochemicals, hi-tech material, special and fine chemicals, among others. There are a total of 15 completed and unfinished petrochemical projects worth 73 billion yuan investment to date. Dozens of worldwide leading petrochemical enterprises from Europe and America as well as Japan and South Korea are planning their investment for downstream petrochemical project in the park. Listed as a "Petrochemical Base with Development Priority in Guangdong Province" and "China's Petrochemical Industrial Park", Daya Bay Petrochemical Industrial Park is expected to reach a total of 100 billion yuan investment with160 billion yuan annual output value as of 2010.

Auto part, electronics and iron & steel industry is mainly concentrated in the western part of Dayawan ETEZ. To date, there are a total of 78 industrial enterprises in operation including 35 above-designated level ones, featuring Dongfeng Honda Automobile Components Co., Ltd., EGB Electronics Co., Ltd., Sanyo Optical Component (Huizhou) Co., Ltd, Huizhou Man Wah Home Furnishings Co., Ltd., Head Sports (Huizhou) Corp., Huizhou Xinhuachang International Containers Co., Ltd., among others. Projects under construction and under preparation amount to 32 with a total of US$1.109 billion investment, highlighting Huizhou BYD Co., Ltd., Huizhou Sanxing Glass Technology Co., Ltd., Sinhua Electronics (Huizhou) Co., Ltd, Shenzhen Sea Star Technology (Huizhou) Co., Ltd., Fudajin Precision Industrial Co., Ltd., among others. 19 projects are under negotiation with a total of US$208 million investment including Huizhou Universal Cement Co., Ltd., High Plasticity Magnesium Alloy Project and Huizhou Jinrun Auto & Plastic Part Co., Ltd.
As the backbone for logistics industry development in Dayawan ETEZ, Huizhou Port has completed the construction of 28 berths of various tonnage with a total of 260-million-ton annual harbor capacity. With the participation in the development of Huizhou Port by the Hong Kong-based Hutchison Port Holdings and the establishment of operations by global leading logistics companies such as Germany-based Oiltanking and Holland-based Vopak along with China's CITIC Logistics, Sinotrans Logistics and CREC (China Railway Engineering Group Co. Ltd.), more and more products, in particular petrochemicals, will be shipped out via Dayawan as the transit center, which is well-positioned to develop into a vital logistics hub in south China.

Dongguan, a Renowned Global Manufacturing Base
As a renowned global manufacturing base, Dongguan is highly developed in manufacturing industry which takes up 90 percent of the gross output value of its

above designated size industries. With a total of over 20,000 manufacturing enterprises covering over 30 sectors and making 60,000 types of products, Dongguan boasts its manufacturing industrial system characterized with complete industrial coverage, well-positioned infrastructure and advanced technology. With the 8 pillar manufacturing industries including electronic information, electronic mechanic, textile & garment, home furnishings, toys, papermaking & paper products, food & beverage, and chemical products playing a significant role, the overall economic capacity in Dongguan has been greatly expanded. Dongguan is well-positioned regarding the supporting industrial system between upstream and downstream products and among various industries.
Featuring wide-ranging sectors and complete supporting industries in its manufacturing industry, many products made in Dongguan account for a significant global market share. With its IT industry taking up a vital position worldwide, Dongguan is an important manufacturing center for computer and information products. Output and sales of information products made in Dongguan such as magnetic head, main board, monitor, power supply, scanner and micro-motor account for 20 to 40 percent of the global market. 95 percent of all the computer components can be manufacturer locally, making Dongguan one of the procurement bases for major global computer makers such as IBM, Compaq, HP and Bell.
Dongguan is also an important manufacturing center for computer and peripherals. IT products made in Dongguan is taken as the synonym of IT products made in China, occupying a dominant position worldwide. The annual Dongguan International Computer Communication & Consumer Electronic Products Expo (Dongguan China), also known as 3C Expo, is the fourth largest fair of its kind worldwide only after Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, CeBIT in Hanover and Computex Taipei, attracting numerous trade visitors and exhibitors every year.
Most of the light industry products such as garments, footwear and toys can be located among the "Industrial Biological Chain" in Dongguan's industrial cluster. Footwear and toys made in Dongguan account for 10 and 30 percent of the global market respectively. Additionally, many other specialized industrial sectors in Dongguan also take possession of important market share domestically and internationally.
1. Southern Style Fashion Town
Based on introduction and absorption, Humen Town Government took the opportunity to prioritize the development of apparel industry in the middle of the 1980s. With the guidance and support from the township government, apparel industry and market in Humen had been matured over the years. Humen has been awarde by the China National Textile and Apparel Council as the "Famous Town for Women Apparel".
Dongguan's apparel industry is mainly concentrated in Humen Town. With a total of more than 2,000 apparel enterprises registered in Township Administration for Industry and Commerce, annual apparel output in Humen can reach 200 million pieces worth 13.5 billion yuan of sales. Annual export is expected to be US$ 400 million pursuant to incomplete statistics. Big names in China's apparel industry such as Yishion, Pine & Eagle, GreyMice, etc. are all based in Humen.

2. Oriental Capital of Home Furnishings
As Hong Kong and Taiwan experienced economic transformation at the beginning of the 1990s, many home furnishers moved their operations to Dongguan. Their arrival was accompanied with huge capital flow, advanced productive technology, trendy product design, up-to-date market information and completely new ideas for modern home furnishings and marketing along with local and global leading big names in furnishings field, which has enabled the rapid development for home furnishings industry in Dongguan.
Dongguan's Houjie Town has developed into an important town for furnishings with a total of over 400 large furnishings makers in the past two decades. There are a total of 8 major specialized furnishings markets in Houjie Town, covering a total area of over 300,000 square meters. The 5 kilometer-long Furnishings Avenue in Houjie is a main distribution center for furnishings, machinery, material and component. The annual International Famous Furniture Fair (Dongguan), the largest of its kind in Asia, is hosted in Houjie, where an industrial chain composed of big name furnishings production, material supply and furniture exhibition is in place.
Dongguan's Dalingshan Town is an export-oriented furnishings manufacturing center where 90 percent of its products are exported, topping the country among all the towns for 10 consecutive years regarding export value. It has been awarded as "Important Export Town in China".
3. Famous Chinese Town of Woolen Knitwear
With a total of over 2,000 woolen knitwear enterprises, the annual output for woolen sweater in Dongguan's Dalang Town surpasses 300 million pieces, 60 percent of them are exported to foreign markets. A complete industrial chain composed of production, accessories, machinery, printing, R&D, logistics and trading is in place in Dalang. It has been awarded as "Famous Chinese Town of Woolen Knitwear". The annual China (Dalang) International Woolen Knitwear Fair is a big name in the industry. The Dalang Woolen Trade Center, a 400-million-yuan project covering an area of 120,000 square meters, is the largest and most advanced exhibition facilities for woolen knitwear in China.
