A national competition for the role of Xue Baochai, one of the heroines in pop TV series adaption of Chinese classical novel "The Dream of Red Mansion" is held on the evening of April 6, 2007. Altogether 25 competitors battled it out on the stage, with 16 of them winning the first round and 9 eliminated.
