Cargo and Passenger Transport
The air cargo and rail cargo businesses in Shenzhen kept their growth momentum in the year 2004. The port and air aviation cargo transport increased greatly, nearly by 20 percent.

There are 2,800 kilometers of roads and 200 kilometers of expressways with a density of 0.75 kilometers per square kilometer in Shenzhen. The road network, which is composed of expressways, trunk roads, main roads and viaduct roads, had shorted travel time inside and out side the economic zone to half an hour and Shenzhen to neighboring cities to an hour.
By the end of 2004, the city had a total of 18,991 public buses, 5,376 were regular ones, 3,310 were mini buses and 10,305 were taxis. There were 379 public transport routes that covered 10,100 kilometers, 3,452 kilometers more than the previous year. The public transport served 1 billion passenger times in the year, increased by 4.8 percent.
