RENOWNED Hong Kong director John Woo will reportedly direct a new Sino-South Korean movie featuring Hollywood star Tom Cruise and South Korean actress Jeon Ji-hyun.
The Hangzhou-based Youth Times reported during the weekend that the movie, whose English name has not been decided, will start shooting in Dali, Southwest China’s Yunnan Province, later this month. The shooting will take three months, the report said.
The Youth Times said that part of the crew has been working on the film’s sets in Dali for three months.
“Xiao Ye Dao” is adapted from the Japanese manga “The Last Vampire,” set in an American airforce base in Japan during the Vietnam War.
Jeon will play a Japanese vampire named Xiao Ye who kills airmen at the American airforce base. But the report did not mention what role Cruise will play in the movie.
Woo has previously worked with Cruise on the Hollywood blockbuster “Mission Impossible:II,” which was a huge box-office success.
