 Agricultural Output

The city has 24,320-hectare land for farming including 3,846 hectares for crops, 1.7 hectares of orchard land, 866 hectares for flowers, 6,200 hectares for aquatic farming, and 666 hectares for husbandry. The forestland covers 866 hectares.

Farming, Forestry, Animal Husbandry and Fishery

A total of 9,810 hectares of crops were planted in 2004, down 10.5 percent 

A total of 2,273 hectares of trees and lawns were planted. A total of 500,000 trees were planted. The farming area of aquatic products reached 4,880 hectares. Ocean catches hit 61,4000 tons, up 35.2 percent, in 2004. Agriculture machinery general power reached 25.57 million watt, a decrease of 7 percent.

Buji Agriculture Produce Market

Buji Agriculture Produce Market covers an area of 120,000 square meters with a construction area of 200,000 square meters. More than 3,000 enterprises from 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China opened businesses here, engaging more than 3,000 produce varieties, whose sales of fruits, vegetables, oil and food stuff, and by-products account 90 percent, 85 percent, 50 percent and 30 percent of the residents' consumption respectively. Some products have been sold to South China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia region.
