Taking the edge of CEPA, Shenzhen has developed agent service industry, mainly including accounting, law consulting, and consulting industry, which have become a new growth point in economic development. In 2004, there were over 170 law firms and 70 accounting firms with 2,200 certified lawyers and 1,200 accountants.
Posts and Telecommunication
In 2004, the total volume of posts and telecommunications was 26.601 billion yuan (calculated in accordance to the price in 2000), up 34.3 percent more than the year before. The newspaper subscription in 2004 was 158 million, 5.7 percent higher. The magazine subscription was 14 million, expanding 19.2 percent. The volume of posting was 147 million, 5.5 percent lower. The express mail volume was 5.9054 million, 31.3 percent higher.
